Use it, or lose it

  • December 1, 2019

Our ferry service is under threat of termination. From today (1/12/19) the Frankton Arm pick ups/drop offs reduce to the Hilton and Bay View piers. From the end of February, it will only be a taxi service from the Hilton, unless Otago Regional Council comes up with a finance package to subsidise the ferry operation (similar to the buses). Peninsula folk must support the service if it is to survive. Such a great way to go into town. Let’s all rally around by using the ferry over the summer.

Alexa Forbes (ex-QLDC Councillor) is our local rep on the ORC. She is across the issue, but no doubt would welcome support for making the case for public investment in the service.
