There is a prospect of a resumption of the ferry service when we step down to COVID-19 Alert Level 2.
Obviously, the level of service will depend on demand; and we will not have international visitors driving that demand for some time to come. So, the operator, Go Orange, is asking for some feedback from the local community as to what works best for us. To that end they are putting out a survey. Here is what they say:
“It’s been a long six weeks, but it looks like town will be open for business again soon.
“We intend to restart the Ferry service in line with the drop to Alert Level 2, but this pause has given us a chance to refocus on you, our community.
“As such we would love to know what you want.
“Below is a quick, 6 question, 1-3 minute survey.
“We’ll be collecting responses until 11pm, this Sunday the 10th of May, then using that to re-write the schedule. With any luck, the government will announce the move to level 2 on Monday and we’ll be ferrying you across the lake on Wednesday.
“Help us help you, take the survey and pass it on to your friends. We want as many of you to contribute as possible and we look forward to seeing you again in the coming weeks.”
