In line with KPCA’s practice, we are inviting Queenstown Lakes District mayoral and council
candidates to speak directly to you at our general meeting on 21 September 2022. Mark your
diaries – 7pm at the Queenstown Golf Club.
What are the issues of concern to Peninsula residents? They can probably be captured in
a word: ‘growth’. Doubtless, ‘growth’ in all its manifestations will feature in the upcoming
elections in October. Recent manifestations on the Peninsula include: public transport and the
need to improve the capacity of the ferry service; parking at Grove Beach during the summer
holidays; multi mode / shared use of the Track; and, of course, the Air Noise Boundaries and
Climate Change.
So, what are the views of your representatives, the prospective mayors and councillors in the Queenstown-Whakatipu Ward? To hear their answers, come along on 21 September. Pre-
register at talk2kpca@gmail.com and submit any questions you might want to ask the candidates.
